Sorry for the late post...
2012 has been a busy year for Nakata. First, capsule released "STEREO WORXXX" way back March last year, followed by Kyary's first full-length album, "Pamyu Pamyu Revolution", which was an unexpected success, reaching #2 in the Oricon Weekly Albums. Following that Nakata also had collaborated with Minmi and Yamashita Tomohisa. He also remixed Alexandra Stan.
Perfume had also changed labels last year, switching from Tokuma Japan Communications to Universal Music Japan, releasing "Spring of Life" in April and "Spending all my time" in August. JPN was re-released by Universal Music in several Asian countries months starting April last year. A Global Compilation was released September featuring two new mixes of the group's songs (MY COLOR and Chocolate Disco).
MEG had also collaborated again with Nakata's for a song off her latest album "WEAR I AM", "REPLICA".
Other than that, Nakata has also been involved into several tie-ups like One Piece and the latest Liar Game OST.
What do you think of Nakata's works in 2012? Was it nice? Boring? Interesting? Overwhelming? What do you expect of him and his production work for this year? Voice it out on the comments!
